Aaron GRIFFITTS, b. 1797 TN; married about 1815 to Mary Elizabeth BOX. Aaron
GRIFFITTS and family were residents of Knox/Laurel KY and Morgan/Hancock IL.
Aaron GRIFFITTS was a resident of Placerville, El Dorado Co. CA in 1850. There
he worked as a miner. Aaron's brother, Isaac GRIFFITTS, and his nephews, James
and Silas accompanied Aaron to El Dorado Co. Another brother, Jesse GRIFFITTS,
resided in Butte Co. in 1850. Legend has it that one of the men died in the
mines. Isaac GRIFFITTS returned to the Midwest with his son James. Silas, son of
Isaac GRIFFITTS, moved to Placer Co. CA and is listed on the 1870 Census for
that county. Aaron's brother, Jesse, also remained in CA. Jesse GRIFFITTS was a
resident of San Francisco in 1860. Aaron GRIFFITTS' last known whereabouts were
recorded in the 1850 CA Census. Aaron's whereabouts after 1850 are unknown.
