Father of Stephen Hardy CARKEET, b.ca1853/54 somewhere in California. He also had two daughters, Fanny CARKEET PETERS and Mae CARKEET. They are Cornish but are believed to have come from Wales. The son, Stephen Hardy CARKEET was last heard from as he headed for the Oroville CA area in 1895. One sister Fanny, was supposed to have owned a hotel/bar in the Marysville CA area with her husband, Mr. Peters, in perhaps the latter part of the 1800s. Stephen Hardy CARKEET is not to be confused with his own son Stephen Hardy CARKEET Jr b. 1881.
