Subject: GOLDRUSH MOST WANTED - Curtis CHANCE

I'm looking for more information about my great great grandfather, Curtis CHANCE, Curtis (born 1795 Bedford County, PA) He went to Putnum County Illinois in the late 1830's with his wife Violet STEPHENS and his son Samuel from his first marriage and the 6 children born in Jefferson County, Ohio and the 2 born in Illinois. When Violet died in 1844, he then married Mary COWEN and they had another child. They went to California (we're told Monrovia area for the gold rush) and he died in 1850.
