Subject: GOLDRUSH MOST WANTED - CLEGG
CLEGG, Joseph arrived San Francisco in July of 1851 with his wife and
seven children. Not enumerated with family on 1852 California state census and
the 1858 SF City Directory shows his wife as a widow. She supposedly ran
boarding houses/took in laundry to keep the family going. There may be
connections to Marysville and Lincoln, CA, Thomas CLEGG 1850 El Dorado Co.
Census, Wm. CLEGG 1860 Sacramento Co. Any early CLEGG sightings appreciated.
