My grandmother's cousin's middle name was DUGAY and I can find no other
DUGAY in California. His full name was William DUGAY CRUIKSHANK (as per
voter's registration records) b. 1856 Fresno, Co. CA d. 1937 Monterey Co.,
CA, and discovered the Last Chance Mine, the richest gold mine in Monterey
Co. Father William THOMPSON CRUIKSHANK b. Troy NY came to CA by ship circa
1954 and lived in Butte Co., Calaveras Co., Contra Costa Co., and Monterey
Co., was the first recorder of mining claims in the Los Burros Mining
District Monterey Co.
