Doris "MUELLER" WOLFINGER - ZINS
She is not my ancestor, but I portray her in the Old
Sacrament Living History Program, I am looking to possibly hook up with one of
her descendants to possibly obtain more of a background on her. I know that she
came from Germany to Sacramento in 1846-47, as a widow (husband Mr. WOLFINGER {WULFINGER?}
was murdered on the trail, Doris was a survivor of the infamous Donner Party.
In 1847 she remarried to George ZINS (a Frenchman with a temper, I've been
told). They lived in Sacramento until 1852 or 1853, then they moved up to
Humboldt I think. Doris is reported to have died in 1861, but I have not been
able to verify any of it...
I would appreciate it if anyone could get me more information on her...
