Subject: STEELY
My gr. grandfather, Dr. Jesse Walker STEELY, went to CA a second time and didn't
return to his family in MO. His name appears on the Mt. Pleasant Mine near
Grizzly Flats in El Dorado Co. as well as there being a Steely Mine on the
Cosumnes River and a Steely bar on the river. This was about 1852. I've learned
the Mt. Pleasant Mine was a prolific producer. I am very anxious to know where
he lived, died and was buried. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks for your
help. Nadine in MO
7/5/02 I would like to update my post. I have located my gr. grandfather, who
moved to Texas, had another family, and died there in 1870. However, I am still
interested in finding out all I can about his claim near Grizzly Flat. Any help
will be appreciated.
