Subject: CA-GOLDRUSH "Most Wanted" SCHOFIELD Family
Not known if the widowed father, Edmond SCHOFIELD, came to CA, but sons: Robert
T., Thomas, Cornelius, and James did, along with sisters Elizabeth, Hannah, and
Mary. They arrived sometime from 1850-1856 and I found Robert T. filed for
naturalization in 1856 but cannot find the actual record of it. Lateral lines:
Berry (from Scotland); Fairweather (Yuba Co) Hamilton (Yuba Co originally from
Iowa). My gr grandfather, Robert T., was a teamster with his own horses and
wagons and is listed on the 1860 census in Rough and Ready...later he married
Jeanette BERRY and opened a sewing machine and piano shop in Marysville in the
1880s. Two of the siblings married WICKES. Bonny McDaniel, 16 Olive Branch Lane,
