Subject:[CA-GOLDRUSH-L] Most Wanted: Helen EDWARDS

Helen EDWARDS was born, 1856, CA, to J. W. (John?) and Marinda EDWARDS. Helen's older half-sister; my gr-grandmother, Mary Louise KNIGHT, was born to mother's previous marriage, 1851, WI. It is not known whether J. W. & Marinda EDWARDS were married in WI, or later met and then married in CA. Helen and her parents may have lived in NV, 1868, when her sister, Mary Louise, was married in Virginia City to Rev. James E. WICKES. The 1880 census shows Helen and her mother living in the home of Rev. James E. WICKES, 817 11th St., Sacramento. Her father is presumed to have died and her mother was remarried to a Mr. Beaumont, then widowed again. We have a report of a Helen EDWARDS marriage to a Mr. BLANCHARD, 1885, Sonoma Co., but do not know if this is our Helen EDWARDS.
