Subject: GOLDRUSH MOST WANTED - MANVILLE
Trying to find burial place of Isaac MANVILLE, b. 17 Mar 1789 in CT, died 27 Apr
1853. Believed to have died in Placerville CA area. Apparently was a restless
soul, moving to La Salle county IL in 1839. One source indicates he moved to Mud
Springs (now Shingle Springs), El Dorado county, CA in 1849 but he's found
listed in 1850 Fed Census living in La Salle county with wife Mary SMITH with a
couple of children. Mary was born in ME on 10 Aug 1798 and died in CA on 20 Apr
1882. Sources also indicate Mary and one daughter Amelia joined Isaac in CA at
Mud Springs in 1852 while another daughter, Emily, stayed in IL. Third daughter
Julia (1831-1897) married Edward CANNON in IL and subsequently moved to Nevada
county CA via IA and NV. Isaac's and Mary's other children were Elvira, Eliza,
Edward and Susan.
