Francisco, California, buried in Hills of Eternity Cemetery, San Francisco.
Married about 1874 to Sarah - - -- - born Jan 1847 in Rogasen, Germany; died 29
Jan 1902 in San Francisco, buried in Hills of Eternity Cemetery, San Francisco.
Children: Rose - born abt. 1875 SF - died 7 May 1888 SF, Marcus - born 22 Jun
1876 SF - died 21 Jul 1925 SF, Abraham - born abt. 1877 SF - died 13 Dec 1888
SF, Lotta - born 29 Aug 1880 SF - died 12 Apr 1963 Los Angeles, California,
Regina - born 10 Jul 1886 SF - died 30 Jan 1978 LA, 2 infants - dates not known.
Jacob LAFEE is listed in "Foreign Born Voters in San Francisco in 1872". He had
registered to vote in 1869 at age 50 (no information on naturalization.) He is
listed in the 1880 census, age 60, with the occupation of City Express Wagon
driver, lived at 3014 Mission, SF. His wife Sarah is 31, Rose 5, Marcus 4, and
Abe 2, and Lotta 9 months. In the 1900 census, Sarah is a widow, age 53, with 3
of her 7 children living: Marcus 22, Lottie 19, and Regina 13. The San Francisco
City Directories list Jacob in the 1862-63 edition as an express wagon driver
living at 411 Pine - worked at 513 Washington. In the 1868-69 edition, there is
a John LAFEE at the same address, same occupation at the same work address.
(Could be a child from a first marriage??) Above information is from census,
city directories, cemetery records, and obituaries. Have not been able to find
information on immigration or naturalization; also, nothing more on wife Sarah.
