JACOB MOYERS / MYERS (pronounced and often spelled Myers on records)

Jacob Moyers, born ca. 1805 VA, left for CA with a company from Fayetteville, Washington Co. AR on 21 April 1849. Newly widowed, he left his 4 children with their aunt. In the 1860 census, the children were still in the household of their aunt and Jacob had not returned. The next record of Jacob is a news article from the Fayetteville (TN) Observer, Thursday, May 5, 1881 p.3 col.2 reporting his visit in Lincoln Co. TN 50 years after having left there for AR. I am looking for any information about Jacob Moyers in CA during the 32 years from his arrival in CA during the fall of 1849 to his visit in TN during the spring of 1881.
