Subject: [CA-GOLDRUSH-L] Jacob WEAVER, 49'er

Jacob WEAVER, b. in Centre Co PA, joined a company "from Wayne Co IN, overland, Apr 6th (1849)." THE ARGONAUTS OF CALIFORNIA lists members of the company: W. F. Davis, A. B. Knode, W. Williams, Thos Williams, Robert Houston, Hy Miller, A. Cunningham, Adam Gates, W. Starr, Peter Booth, J N Putney, Jas Puntney, J Echenock, R Cochran, Wm McAfee, Wm Buck, Chs Trisa, J M Fritch, B Manifold, N Baldridge, A Saunders, S McMurray, W S Porter, W K Kock, Sam Pifer, Jacob Weaver, GW Beeler, C Rathfun, Enoch Myres, L Don Meed, A McDowell, H A Echelbarger, H J Shaumbrie, & G & S Neese. Does anyone know of a written account of this trip? According to THE HISTORY OF FRESNO CO, Jacob WEAVER ran a store & sawmill near Redwood City. He later engaged in coal mining in Sonoma Co near Mark West Springs, then returned to Redwood City. In 1880 he moved to Fresno where he lived the rest of his life. The other names in the company are not familiar to me. Thanks for any help! Elaine Waiters ( ewaiters@thegrid.net )
