Subject:[CA-GOLDRUSH-L] Re: Lost Ancestor Jakob NEUBRECHT
Hello: My lost ancestor, Jakob NEUBRECHT, purchased land in Allen Co,OH in 1847. The next written record for Jakob is when his farm was being transferred to his heirs because of the fact "Jakob NEUBRECHT, deceased, late of the state of California --." Family history is that Jakob went to CA during the Gold rush and was never heard from again. This can't be true as someone had to provide proof that he was dead or his farm could not have been divided up among his heirs, his brothers and sisters in Germany. Where to begin? Thanks, John Newbright:( email@example.com )
