Subject: GOLDRUSH MOST WANTED - WHITBURN
James WHITBURN born about 1816 Gwennapp, Cornwall, son of James WHITBURN and
Elizabeth LUKE probably arrived in California from Chile, South America in the
late 1840's. James was a carpenter and was married in Chile to Carmin PIZARO
possibly about 1845. His second wife was Martina BONNAGEN and a child from this
marriage (Bernard WHITBURN) was born in California circa 1850. James eventually
found his way to Dunedin, New Zealand arriving here around 1863. Any help
regarding James and his son Bernard's time in California would be most
appreciated.
Karen Jenkins (nee Whitburn), Dunedin, NZ
