Subject: GOLDRUSH MOST WANTED - Jesse RIGGS
Searching for information on Jesse RIGGS b abt 1802 in AL. Jesse was married to
Melinda ? abt 1820. Jesse is listed on the 1830 & 1840 census of Lawrence
County, AL but is missing on the 1850 census. It is believed that he made the
1849 gold rush and never came back. Jesse would be my great great grandfather.
His wife Melinda is listed on the 1850 census of Tishomingo County, MS with (6)
of their (7) children. Names of children are: Henry RIGGS b 1826 AL, Thomas J.
RIGGS b 1829 AL, Isah C. RIGGS b 1834 AL, Mary J. RIGGS b 1836 AL, Samuel W.
RIGGS b 1838 AL, Sarah RIGGS b 1840 AL. Another son William George RIGGS b 1828
AL was not listed as he was 22 years old and married in abt 1850. Any additional
information on this family would be very welcome. Thank you.
