Subject: [CA-GOLDRUSH-L] Most Wanted: John FOLKS

John FOLKS, known to be in California by 1861. He was born in Ohio in 1835, his father was born in Georgia. He was married in Sonoma County CA in 1861 and lived in Bodega Bay CA till about 1890. He was married a second time to Mary TAYLOR and was buried in Colma CA. His brother Richard arrived in Sonoma Co. by 1880. My questions are: How did he get the money to buy the hotel in Bodega Bay?
