Subject: [CA-GOLDRUSH-L] Most Wanted: John MURRAY
I have a very elusive John MURRAY, who had an American Seamen's Protection
Certificate dated 1st July, 1848 stating he was born in New York. He traveled to
San Francisco at some stage and left there in 1855. A steerage ticket from Agent
- J. J. Southgate dated 20th Feb, 1855 for $US80.00 said he sailed on the
B...?S.....? Mary to Port Phillip (Victoria, Australia). When married here in
Australia on March 6th, 1863 he stated was born in Middlesex, England, and his
parents were Michael MURRAY a ferrier, and Anne GREEN. Thanking you, Mary of
