Subject: GOLDRUSH MOST WANTED - WILZ
John WILZ and his wife Anna N. (maiden name unknown) and their 2 year old son
came west via covered wagon in 1850 from IL and landed in Shasta City, Shasta
County, CA. They obtained land there, part of which they sold to a priest for
the site of a Catholic Church. They are shown in the 1860 census, John as a
gardener, Mary? wife, and Peter son, as well as a daughter Susan and another son
Theodore. Later all are shown in 1880 census as living in Santa Cruz, CA.
What is the correct name of wife? What train did they come to CA with? When did
they leave Shasta?
UPDATED:
I have located Mary WILZ, who turns out to be Anna N. WILZ and her family in Santa Cruz, CA in the 1880 census for that county. I am still interested in finding anything about the wagon train they came west with however.
