Subject: Goldrush Most Wanted
Looking for any information on Louis Bohne/Bahne. Immigrated to the US from Germany as a 10 year old boy in 1834--settled in Illinois. Went to California to mine gold after 1850. Filed a water claim in 1853 that was on file at Donwnieville, and he was on the 1860 Sierra County, CA Census. Received his mail in Table Rock, CA. He was near Marysville, Yuba County (I have a picture) and mined for gold with others. From a letter he wrote to his aunt in Illinois, I know he was also in the Stockton and Sacramento areas visiting others from the Beardstown, Cass County, Illinois areas.
