Subject: GOLDRUSH MOST WANTED - MEEKER

Searching for information on gg uncle Reuben MEEKER listed in 1850 Pleasant Hill District of El Dorado Co. near Hangtown now Placerville, Ca. at age 18 (B.ca 1832, Ohio). It is possible he moved West with the Nathan WIIXOM family as they traveled from Nauvoo, Ill. to Utah. Reuben's brother Melvin, my gg Grandfather is listed in the 1850 census for Utah Territory. He is then listed on the 1860 census of Tuolumne Co. Twp.#3 Jamestown, P.O. age 32. He returned to Bremer County, Iowa by 1870. What happened to Reuben? Did he move to Tuolumne the reason his brother Melvin is listed on the census there? Did he die in the gold fields? Where buried? Any information appreciated. Thank you.
